Visitor policies continue to evolve at Schaumburg Dermatology to ensure a safe, trusted, and comfortable care environment for all patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
To align with recent changes made by the CDC, Schaumburg Dermatology updated our patient/visitor policy.
Effective 06/11/20211, the following visitor policies are in effect.
Screen for illness, At the point of check-in, patients, and companions will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms by answering the questionnaire. Vaccinated guests are not required to wear a facemask in the waiting room, if they provide proof of being fully vaccinated in the form of a vaccine card. If proof of vaccination(fully vaccinated) can not be confirmed, a face mask is required during the entire visit at the clinic.
- Patients with recent COVID-19 infection should have a visit postponed until > 10 days after a positive test and until they are asymptomatic.
- Visitors should be restricted from visiting, regardless of their vaccination status, if they have: current SARS-CoV-2 infection; symptoms of COVID-19; or prolonged close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period) with someone with SARS-CoV-2 infection in the prior 14 days or have otherwise met criteria for quarantine.
Physical Distancing, Everyone must maintain a distance of at least six feet from each other unless they are giving or receiving direct patient care.
Universal masking, Everyone is required to wear a mask while in our clinical area. Masks must be worn at all times unless requested to remove them, even when a provider is not present in the exam room. Patients and or visitors are not permitted to eat or drink in our facility, as it would require frequent unmasking. A mask is not needed in our waiting room as long as proof of being fully vaccinated has been present to front desk coordinators.
All guests who do not comply with the masking policy may be asked to leave.
We ask you to use your best judgment and caution surrounding upcoming appointments and call us at (847) 534-0700 option two if you have any questions about your next visit and or our practice protocols. We also encourage you to follow the prevention and safety guidelines established by the CDC.
