Visitor policies continue to evolve at Schaumburg Dermatology to ensure a safe, trusted, and comfortable care environment for all patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.

To align with recent changes made by the CDC, Schaumburg Dermatology updated our patient/visitor policy.

Effective 12/27/2021, the following visitor policies are in effect.

All visitors are restricted from visiting, regardless of their vaccination status, if they have: current SARS-CoV-2 infection; or symptoms of COVID-19.

Screen for illness, At the point of check-in, patients and companions will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms by answering the screening question below:

  1. Are you experiencing symptoms of potential COVID-19 infection, including fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, new loss of taste or smell, vomiting or diarrhea, and or sore throat?
  2. If you previously tested positive for COVID-19, did you stay isolated for at least five days?

If You Test Positive for COVID-19 (Isolate). Everyone, regardless of vaccination status. Should stay home for five days. If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving after five days, you can leave your house. If you have a fever, continue to stay home until your fever resolves (without fever for 24 hours).

Patients with recent COVID-19 infection should have a visit postponed until five days after a positive test and until they are asymptomatic(without fever for 24 hours).

Visitors: Currently, we are not allowing visitors unless otherwise stated below:

Parent/guardian is required – (Two designated visitors).

A translator is required – (Two designated visitors).

Universal masking: Everyone must wear a mask while in our facility. Masks must be worn at all times unless requested to remove them, even when a provider is not present in the exam room. Patients and or visitors are not permitted to eat or drink in our facility, as it would require frequent unmasking.

All guests who do not comply with the masking policy may be asked to leave.

We ask you to use your best judgment and caution surrounding upcoming appointments and call us at (847) 534-0700; select option two if you have any questions about your next visit or practice protocols. We also encourage you to follow the CDC’s prevention and safety guidelines established.

We appreciate your understanding and will do everything to provide exemplary dermatology services while keeping our patients/visitors safe.

Thank you for your continued trust and loyalty as we work together to fight this virus.
