Before his dermatology residency, Dr. Prashant Singri spent two years performing clinical research at Northwestern University, investigating all of the newest therapies for moderate to severe psoriasis. After his residency at Northwestern, he stayed on clinical faculty and headed the psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis clinic for seven years, managing severe and complicated psoriasis patients. At Schaumburg Dermatology, we have all of the newest therapies accessible for patients with all types of psoriasis which allows him to continue this excellence in care.

Dr. Singri will carefully review your medical history, examine your skin, and work with you to decide which treatment plan may be the best for you.

Systemic / Biologic Therapy

We have extensive experience in using the newest biological medicines (including Enbrel, Humira, Remicade, and Stelara) as well as traditional therapies (Soriatane, methotrexate, and cyclosporine). We are often enrolling patients in clinical trials allowing patients to use medications that are yet to be released. These are free to patients and a great option for those without insurance.

Phototherapy Center

Phototherapy has been an excellent way to treat and maintain moderate to severe psoriasis. Receive treatment in our office or ask if you may be a candidate for a home unit. We offer a variety of treatment options:

Narrow Band UVB

This is a safe and effective way to control and maintain resistant cases of psoriasis across the entire body. We have two full-body units and a handheld unit for those tough-to-treat areas. This is also a very effective treatment for eczema, lichen planus, chronic itching, and vitiligo.

Narrow Band UVB hand/foot

A convenient way to treat conditions localized to the hands and feet without exposing the remainder of the body.

Topical psoralens with UVA hand/foot

This is an extremely effective way to treat pustular psoriasis and thick psoriasis of the hands and feet. We can often keep your psoriasis clear with as little as once-a-month treatments.

Excimer Narrow Band laser

An excellent way to target specific areas of psoriasis or vitiligo. The higher energy used allows for a quicker response without exposing the normal skin. Treatment sessions may take four months, and many stay clear for 6-9 months.

Topical therapies

We can prescribe a variety of topicals (corticosteroids, vitamin D analogs, retinoids, anthralin, coal tar, keratolytic) based on the type of psoriasis you may have. Many cases of psoriasis will respond and stay clear just with the right combination of topicals. We will also tailor a regimen for you to optimize your biologic or phototherapy treatment.
